Jacob's family has a tradition of hosting a sweetheart dinner every February. Jacob first invited me when I was a senior in high school, and we've continued the tradition away from home every year we've been together since. Last year we invited some of my college performing friends--all of whom had just been married in the last year. (Dallin is not pictured in either photo--he's the photographer, very sneaky. Pictured this year above, from left to right: Greg, Mimi, Andrea, Devin, Katie holding Elizabeth, me, Jake.) This year Katie and Dallin were sweet enough to host at their place. It was so fun to see everyone and catch up, especially as 2 of the 4 couples will be moving across the country in a matter of months. And since our dinner last year, there have been 2 babies and a pregnancy in the bunch! Amazing what a year will do.Martha Stewart moment:
Those would be homemade heart-shaped brownies, with homemade frosting on a decorative red thing, care of yours truly. . . (alright, and a little help from Jake.) There were plenty of yummy desserts there to choose from!
