So a long, long time ago, the first week of August to be exact, Rachel and her sweet kids popped up for a visit while both our hubbies were out of town for work. We spent the week together, all 5 of us in our one-bedroom apartment and we had a ball! Rachel and her kids were part of the "Volunt-ear" program that got you in the park free, so here's our D-land trip in review:

Start of the day, leaving the house. Lots of happy faces this morning!

Eve was all about the Princesses. Rachel had long been talking it up, asking Evie, "Where do princesses live?" And proceeding to explain the castle at Disneyland. So sure enough, first thing we go to visit Sleeping Beauty's castle and who would we see but Aurora standing right outside the gift shop where we were! I flipped out, ran inside and shouted, "It's Aurora! She's here!" Stickin' up for my little niece on her magic day, never minding the frightening, if momentary, "stage mom" scene I may have caused. Way to go, Auntie Em! ;)

Ooh! Ooh! 2 for 1! Cinderella was just over the drawbridge! Two princesses down and it was still morning! Woo hoo!
And yes, we did rides too! After all, we had Devlin in tow. Splash Mountain was a MUST!
Before

After
Didn't think it was possible, but I think he looks even HAPPIER in this photo!

Snacks and snuggling on the park bench.

Loving the shade.

After a few more rides like the Matterhorn and Peter Pan's Flight it was time for
MORE Princesses!

Evie was in absolute heaven. Ariel was amazing. She sang too. She said she liked Devlin's hair, that she thought it looked like a sea urchin. Ha!

Belle is Evie's favorite because she wears yellow, Eve's favorite color. Serious dress envy going on here.

Everyone commented on the beautiful flower in Evie's hair. She really was the belle of them all.

Tiana we saw TWICE that day, here and dancing in the parade. We also saw Snow White dancing at the Princess Coronation.
These princesses were so gracious on a hot August day to make such a memorable occasion for this little girl visiting Disneyland.

Penny smashing! One of the Dixon favorite Disney pastimes!

A copper Belle and Wart from Sword in the Stone! Hooray!
Iris was so patient, but we wanted to make sure she had her fun, too. Off to the carousel.

Yup, looks like fun!
But she REALLY loved the . . .

Railings! Go figure!

Three little dreamers.

Pretzel and hot dog dinner at the castle. Eating like royalty!

Toy figurine sets for all! Sleeping Beauty for Eve and Toy Story for Devlin! They could hardly wait to get off the tram to open them!

Tired little teddy bears on the drive home. They were all so well-behaved all day long. Here's to our little sleeping beauties and our very handsome prince!

Awesome pictures. Great job.
Oh my gosh! Hooray! This is so cool! That was one of the funnest days in my mom history. Awesome. I hadn't see those before and after shots of Devlin on Splash Mountain! I think maybe he liked it.
And Iris on the carousel? Wow. And I'm glad I took the extra time to make them look cute that morning, because of all the pictures!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
